This multifaceted painting is the work of resident artist, Sue Howard.  Through the repeated painting of a canvas and selective redaction Howard weaves intricate narratives. Leaving glimpses of past layers exposed, incorporating personal symbolism and paredolia she offers viewers a visually complex enigma to contemplate for meaning.  For this piece she has drawn from the annals of history both real and mythological as she presents her subjects defiant in the face of trials.
